Fantastic Experience

The cruise from Lhuang Prabang to Houay Xay was simply a fantastic experience. It was also a totally relaxing cruise along the river. The stops along the way were well planned. First day stopped at the caves and then carried on to Pak Beng. Second day stopped at a small village to see a simple and peaceful way of living. Ended the cruise on the Laos side of the border.
Our guide, Bounsene, looked after any questions or concerns. Helped direct me through Laos and Thai customs. Bounsene also shared a wealth of information on Laos culture, geography, village life and Bhuddism. And the food was fabulous. A big shout out to the cook!
I highly recommend this cruise and I would like to give Bounsene a sincere thank you for making this a memorable experience!

Excellent 2 day up river Mekong boat trip

Upriver 2 day boat trip from Luang Prabang to Huay Xai, had a great 2 days, bboat and facilities were great. The meals supplied on both days were excellent and freshly supplied by the captains wife. Overnight stay in Pak Beng was in a very cheap accommodation (£15.00) Janh Ya Phone Guesthouse, this was booked by ourselves to save some costs. It was fine and was only used to sleep in overnight, clean and comfortable.
The guide for the 2 day trip was a local Laos man named Tee, he was great company and continually kept most members on the trip up to date with locations and relevant information about the areas and villages. He was so helpful when reaching the border control at Thailand, we also met some lovely people on the trip.
Well worth the cost and time

Relaxing cruise with breathtaking views of Laos

I recently had an exceptional experience on the Shompoo Cruise in Luang Prabang. The cruise not only offered breathtaking views along the Mekong River but also provided top-notch service. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring a comfortable journey. The onboard amenities were impressive, and the traditional Laotian cuisine served was delicious. This cruise truly exceeded my expectations, making it a five-star experience that I highly recommend to anyone visiting Luang Prabang.

Two day river cruise

We spent 2 lovley days cruising down Mekong from Pakbeng to Luang Prabang. Its a great way to see this part of the world with a couple of stops along the way to see caves and a local village. The boat provides lunch was which some of the nicest food we have had in Laos. Tea, coffee and water are provided free and other drinks and snacks can be purchased.
The mornings can be chilly so suggest taking some warmer clothes, but sit back chill and enjoy the ride.
