After lunch, the trail follows the ridge line back toward the village, offering a variety of landscapes: bamboo forest, open fields, and sweeping mountain scenery. By about 1:30PM, you return to Long Lan Village and stop at a local coffee farm to learn about the journey of coffee from cultivation to cup, and capture symbolic photos among the trees.

At 2:30PM, your host prepares fresh brewed coffee for you to enjoy before you settle into your homestay. Here, you have time to rest, shower, and soak in the peaceful mountain atmosphere.

By late afternoon, you meet the village shaman and, if available, the village chief. Together, they welcome you with a traditional Baci ceremony, a meaningful blessing that symbolizes protection, health, and good fortune. Traditional Hmong music accompanies this intimate cultural moment.
Around 6:00PM, your host family prepares a local dinner. You are welcome to help in the kitchen, an opportunity to learn how traditional Hmong dishes are cooked. After dinner, gather around with the elders for stories and insights into Hmong culture before settling into your simple, cozy bedding for the night. You fall asleep surrounded by quiet mountain air, far from the noise of the city.

Day 2 – Sunrise, Coffee Harvest & A Meaningful Farewell
Early risers can take an optional sunrise walk to a viewpoint just behind the village. Though short, the climb is steep, but the reward is a sweeping panorama of the valley as the sun rises over the mountains.
By 7:30AM, the village comes alive as families head to their fields. You can stroll peacefully through the village, enjoy your morning coffee, or help prepare breakfast. After sharing a homemade meal with your host family, you thank them for their hospitality.

Around 9:00AM, you return to the coffee farm for a hands-on experience of the harvest. You learn how coffee cherries are picked, sorted and hulled, gaining a deep appreciation for the work behind every cup. Working alongside the farmers, you participate in each step, making this an authentic and memorable learning moment.

At 11:30AM, you enjoy a freshly prepared Hmong lunch in the village. Vegetarian options or dietary restrictions can be arranged with advance notice.
At 1:30PM, before leaving Long Lan Village, your host prepares one final artisanal brew to conclude your village experience. You then begin the return journey to Luang Prabang.
By 3:00PM, you arrive at Sahai Lao Coffee for the final activity of your tour: roasting your own coffee. Guided by experts, you sort your beans, control the roast, and package your personalized 200g souvenir bag, a handcrafted memory of your two days in the mountains.

The experience ends at 4PM, as you leave with a full heart, a deeper understanding of Hmong culture, and the rich aroma of freshly roasted coffee in your hands.
