We had a wonderful three-night stay at this charming hotel.
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a warm and friendly staff who spoke well English, making our check-in process smooth and effortless. The room was impeccably clean and comfortable, with a spotless bathroom that matched our expectations. Each morning, we looked forward to a delightful breakfast served in the serene garden area. The selection included a variety of fresh fruits, tea, coffee, bread, cake, noodles, and yogurt—something for everyone's taste. The peaceful ambiance of the garden added a special touch to our mornings. We highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a relaxing and pleasant stay. We would definitely return!Our guide, Bounsene, looked after any questions or concerns. Helped direct me through Laos and Thai customs. Bounsene also shared a wealth of information on Laos culture, geography, village life and Bhuddism. And the food was fabulous. A big shout out to the cook!

We recommend this hotel for its comfort. There's also a swimming pool for enthusiasts and a lovely indoor patio with a koi pond.
We spent two wonderful nights at Pakbeng Sanctuary Lodge. The setting is exceptional, with breathtaking views of the Mekong River and a peaceful atmosphere surrounded by nature. The bungalows are comfortable, beautifully integrated into the environment, and tastefully decorated.
The restaurant was a real surprise: by far the best we’ve experienced in three months of traveling through Asia. Refined and flavorful dishes made with local ingredients — every meal was a true delight!
What makes this place even more special is its commitment: welcoming local staff trained on-site, support for the village community, ethical partnerships (especially with the elephant center), and a genuine dedication to promoting responsible tourism.

Wonderfully located hotel at the Mekong River, about halfway between the Thai border at Huay Xai and Luang Prabang. Recently the renown Private Palace Group took over the management and turned the hotel into a real grand hotel. Staff is very friendly and not only during sunset the hotel pool provides fantastic view over the Mekong River. The internet is one of the best in the region! Absolutely worth a visit!The mornings can be chilly so suggest taking some warmer clothes, but sit back chill and enjoy the ride.
