The 2-day Coffee Experience in Ban Long Lan was truly one of the most memorable things I’ve done in Laos. What stood out the most was the incredible kindness of everyone we met. From the moment we arrived in the village, the Hmong families welcomed us with genuine warmth.
Our guides were exceptional . They managed everything with calm, care, and expertise. They explained every step of the coffee-making process, shared stories about Hmong traditions, and ensured we were comfortable at all times. Their passion for their culture and their respect for the village were inspiring.
Over the two days, we explored the coffee plantations, learned how the beans are grown and processed, roasted our own coffee, and enjoyed delicious home-cooked meals prepared by the villagers. Hiking through the mountains on the second day was another highlight , peaceful, scenic, and guided with perfect attention to safety and pace.
What made the experience even more meaningful is knowing that 100% of the proceeds directly support the families of the village.
This tour is the perfect mix of authenticity, professionalism, and human connection. The people, the guides, the food, the landscapes and everything was outstanding. I absolutely recommend the 2 day experience to anyone looking for real, heartfelt, and responsible travel in Laos.
From start to finish, it felt genuine, peaceful, and deeply connected to local village life. Everything was well organized and perfectly paced. We spent the day discovering the village, meeting Hmong families, and learning how coffee is grown, harvested, roasted, and prepared. The hands-on activities were a real highlight , especially roasting my own coffee and taking home a bag I crafted myself!
What made the experience truly special was our guide and the village hosts. Our guide took great care of us, answered every question, and shared so many insights about Hmong traditions, daily life, and the landscapes around Luang Prabang. The village guides were incredibly welcoming, and the food was amazing, a big shout-out to the cooks for the delicious Hmong family-style dishes!
I also loved knowing that 100% of the proceeds go directly to the local Hmong community, helping support local families and preserve their culture. It felt meaningful to be part of responsible, community-based tourism where your visit truly makes a difference.
With small groups, smooth organization, and such warm hospitality, I highly recommend this tour.
I spent two days in immersion for the cofee tour experience and it was like stepping into another world, very calm, green, and authentic. The village sits high in the mountains, surrounded by coffee trees and hills, and the whole atmosphere instantly makes you slow down and breathe.
One of the things I enjoyed most was how naturally everything flowed. Nothing felt rushed or staged. We walked through the coffee farms, met the families who grow and process the beans, and tried several steps of the production ourselves. Learning how the coffee is planted, harvested, dried, and roasted gave me a whole new appreciation for every cup
